People send us carbon agreements, vendor quotes, business cases and funding positions. That is commercially sensitive material, and handing it over takes trust. So here is exactly what we collect, where it goes, and who else can see it — in plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read isn't a courtesy.
Selsmeyer & Co is deliberately small. We take on a limited number of clients at a time so each one gets senior attention rather than a bench of juniors — and the same principle applies to your information. Fewer hands touch it, and the people whose hands they are know exactly what they're holding.
This policy is written to follow the Australian Privacy Principles, and we hold ourselves to it as a matter of practice.
There is no analytics on this website. No tracking pixels, no advertising tags, no cookies, and nothing stored in your browser. We don't know who visits, how often, or what they read. That's a deliberate choice, and it means we genuinely cannot build a profile of you even if we wanted to.
We will never sell your information, rent it, trade it, or hand it to a data broker. You won't be added to a mailing list because you enquired — if we ever start a newsletter, you'll have to ask for it. We don't use what you send us to train anything, and we don't publish it.
Everything you send in the course of an engagement is confidential. It isn't discussed with other clients, it isn't shown to the vendor on the other side of your deal, and it isn't passed to anyone without asking you first. Anyone working with us on your engagement is bound by the same confidentiality.
We keep our clients' names off this website on purpose. You'll notice the work described here is anonymous — a grower in Western Australia, two businesses. That isn't modesty. If you were sending us your numbers, you'd want the same.
If we ever want to write up your engagement as an example, we'll ask first, and you can say no without it costing you anything.
| Who | What they handle | Where |
|---|---|---|
| Formspree | Delivers this website's forms to our inbox and stores a copy of the submission | United States |
| Our email — anything you send sits in a Gmail mailbox. Google also serves this site's typefaces, which means it receives your IP address when a page loads | United States | |
| Cloudflare | Hosts the website and keeps short technical logs for security | Global network |
That means information you send us is stored overseas, and is subject to the laws of the countries those companies operate in. Every small consultancy you deal with has the same arrangement — most just don't tell you.
We would also be required to hand material over if a court, tribunal or regulator ordered it. We'd tell you that had happened unless legally barred from doing so.
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@selsmeyer.com and you'll hear back within two business days — same as everything else here.
If you're ever unhappy with how we've handled your information, tell us first and give us the chance to fix it.
